with the Best Little Dive Shop in Texas   Well it's that time of the year again, so The Best Little Dive Shop in Texas is getting geared up for our annual "Dive for DAN" fundraiser.  As you know, DAN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers and associated with the Duke University Medical Center.   Founded in 1980, DAN has served as a lifeline for the scuba industry by operating the only 24-hour diving emergency hotline, a lifesaving service for injured divers.  Additionally, DAN operates a diving medical information hotline, conducts vital diving medical research, and develops and provides a number of first-aid and continuing education programs, for everyone from beginning divers to medical professionals.    The Night Dive Treasure Hunt will be held at dark on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Balmorhea State Park for certified divers ages 12 and up (please bring your c-card if you want to participate).  The cost to participate in the treasure hunt is $20 (non-refundable) and can be paid by cash or check at The Best Little Dive Shop in Texas prior to May 15th or the day of the event at Balmorhea State Park.  Prizes are being donated by our scuba equipment suppliers such as Aqualung, Atomic Aquatics, Deep See, Henderson and Sea Dive (just to name a few) as well as from local businesses.  This is a great way to support DAN and is always lots of fun!   Non-divers can join in the fun too!  We are working on getting food donated for our annual dinner before the treasure hunt.  The proceeds from the dinner also go to DAN.  Those who want to enjoy the hamburgers can pay (separate donation than the treasure hunt donation) for the meal at the event, but please let us know if you are planning on eating by MAY 9, 2008 so that we can make sure to have enough food for everyone.  It's simple to participate, just come by the shop to sign up or sign up in Balmorhea, but remember let us know ASAP if you want to join in on the BBQ so we can make sure we have enough food for everyone.  So bring your family and friends and join us for this very worthwhile and fun event!!!!!!                                                  The Best Little Dive Shop in Texas 6701 Indiana Ave. Lubbock, TX 79413 www.scubafied.com
